Ayurvedic Fever & Immunity Care at Jeena Sikho

Fever hits almost every household at some point, and cough, cold, and weak immunity usually tag along, especially when the season changes and the monsoon comes. That's exactly where Jeena Sikho's Fever & Immunity Care collection steps in, with options for both quick recovery support and long-term daily immunity.

We've built this range around Ayurveda's take on Jwara (fever) and Vyadhikshamatva (the body's own defence power), the belief that fever always has a root cause, and the body already knows how to heal if you give it the right support. That's the thinking behind our Ayurvedic medicine for fever, our Ayurvedic immunity booster options, and formulations meant for cough and cold ease too. Herbs like Giloy, Tulsi, and Amla - trusted across generations form the base of most of these products.

For everyday protection, our immune booster tablets are made for people who want consistency without complicating their routine: no harsh chemicals, just herbs traditionally used to help the body stay resilient.

What is Fever? Normal Body Temperature, Causes & When Fever Becomes Dangerous

Fever is a temporary rise in body temperature above the normal range, usually triggered by an infection, inflammation, or the immune system kicking into gear. Normal body temperature in adults typically sits between 36.1-37.2°C (97-99°F) when measured orally, and anything above 38°C (100.4°F) is generally classified as fever.

It's worth remembering that fever itself isn't the enemy, it's actually the body's natural defence mechanism, making conditions less favorable for bacteria and viruses to survive. In Ayurveda, this is called Jwara, and it's considered the most significant of all diseases, the one every other illness is measured against.

Fever Causes and Types:

  • Viral infections - The most common cause of fever in India, including influenza, dengue, chikungunya, COVID-19, and the common cold. These are usually self-limiting and resolve with rest and supportive care.

  • Bacterial infections - Some examples are typhoid, UTIs, pneumonia and strep throat. These often require antibiotics so a proper medical evaluation is a must.

  • Low-grade fever (37.3-38°C) - Commonly linked to a mild viral infection, general fatigue, or even a post-vaccination response. Usually settles on its own with adequate rest.

  • High fever (>39.4°C) - Medical evaluation is required, the fever needs to be treated, not left alone.

  • Fever with Chills - Shivering as the body raises its internal temperature set point. This is often seen in diseases such as malaria and typhoid fever.

  • In Ayurveda - Jwara is experienced when Ama (undigested toxins) combines with an aggravated Dosha when it enters the Rasa Dhatu (plasma tissue), blocking the Sweda Vaha Srotas (sweat channels) and leading to the accumulation of heat in the body.

Viral Fever - Symptoms, Duration, Home Remedies & Natural Support

A viral fever usually comes on quite quickly and the symptoms include a temperature of between 38 and 40°C, aches in the body, headache, tiredness, a runny or blocked nose, sore throat, loss of appetite, and sometimes a rash. The good news is that viral fever usually takes its course on its own in 3-7 days.

Antibiotics don't help here since the cause is viral, not bacterial. The standard approach is rest, plenty of fluids, paracetamol if the discomfort is too much, and Ayurvedic Jwara-supportive herbs like Giloy, Tulsi, and Trikatu to help the body recover naturally.

High-risk individuals, breathing difficulty, or persistent high fever

Home Remedies for Fever - 8 Effective Methods

  • Tepid sponging - Wipe the forehead, neck, and armpits with lukewarm (not cold) water; cold water triggers shivering, which raises temperature further.

  • Stay hydrated - ORS, coconut water, or warm lemon water help replace fluids lost during fever.

  • Rest fully - The immune system needs energy; skip exertion for 48-72 hours.

  • Giloy kadha - A classical Jwara-nashana herb, simmered and taken warm.

  • Tulsi, ginger, and honey tea - Soothing, warming, and traditionally used for fever with cold-like symptoms.

  • Coriander seed water - A cooling remedy for fevers with a burning sensation.

  • Comfortable room temperature - Light cotton clothing, no heavy blankets, no direct fan.

  • Paracetamol - For fevers above 38.5°C, as needed for comfort.

For those looking to support recovery the Ayurvedic way, our fever support combo and immunity drops are formulated for exactly this, helping the body regain strength once the fever itself has settled.

Dengue & Typhoid Fever - Symptoms, 7 Warning Signs & When Fever Becomes an Emergency

Dengue fever symptoms typically begin with a sudden high fever, severe headache, pain behind the eyes, and intense joint and muscle pain, often called "breakbone fever" for a reason. While most cases resolve with proper monitoring, dengue can turn serious quickly, which is why knowing the warning signs matters.

7 Warning Signs of Dengue Fever

  • Severe abdominal pain or persistent vomiting

  • Bleeding from gums, nose, or in urine/stool

  • Rapid breathing or difficulty breathing

  • Unusual fatigue or restlessness

  • Blood in vomit

  • Liver enlargement

  • A progressive fall in platelet count

Even one of these signs means it's time to get to a hospital, dengue is very manageable when caught early, so waiting it out at home isn't worth the risk.

Dengue Fever Symptoms Table:

Phase

Days

Key Symptoms

Platelet Count

Action

Febrile Phase

Day 1-3

Sudden high fever 39-40°C+, severe headache, pain behind eyes, joint and muscle pain ('breakbone fever')

Normal to mildly reduced

Doctor visit for dengue NS1 antigen test — Day 1-3 most accurate

Critical Phase

Day 4-6

Fever may break — WARNING SIGNS may appear, plasma leakage risk, platelet drop

Falls below 1,00,000 — below 20,000 is danger level

Hospitalisation if platelets falling or any warning sign appears

Recovery Phase

Day 7-10

Fever gone, appetite returns, rash may appear (measles-like), platelet count recovers

Recovers to normal

Monitor for fluid overload (excess IV fluid risk during this phase)

Typhoid Fever Symptoms

  • Stepwise rising fever - Starts around 37.5°C and climbs roughly 0.5°C each day, reaching 39-40°C by the second week.

  • Relative bradycardia - The heart rate stays slower than what you'd expect for the fever level, unlike most other infections.

  • Rose spots - Faint pink spots on the trunk, seen in about 30% of cases and considered a classic sign of typhoid.

  • Digestive changes - Constipation during the first week, often shifting to diarrhoea by week two or three.

  • Abdominal pain and distension - Particularly noticeable around the belly button area.

  • Diagnosis - A blood culture is the gold-standard test, prescribed and confirmed by a doctor.

Both dengue and typhoid need proper medical diagnosis and treatment, there's no way around that. What Jeena Sikho's Ayurvedic range offers is supportive wellness care alongside medical treatment, aimed at helping immunity and energy levels during recovery. These products are not a substitute for hospitalisation, anti-malarial or anti-typhoid medication, or a doctor's diagnosis.

Cough, Cold & Allergy - Causes, Types & Ayurvedic Support (Kasa, Pratishyaya & Pratishyaya Vata)

Cough is really just the body's way of clearing the airways, whether it's irritants, mucus, infection, or inflammation causing the trouble. Ayurveda takes a fairly detailed view here, splitting cough into five types under Panchavidha Kasa: Vataja (dry and scratchy), Pittaja (productive with a burning sensation), Kaphaja (thick mucus), Kshataja (linked to injury), and Kshayaja (degenerative in nature). This is essentially why Ayurvedic medicine for cough isn't one-size-fits-all; the right herbs depend on which type you're dealing with.

Types of Cough & How Ayurveda Approaches Each

  • Dry cough (Vataja Kasa) – Non-productive, tickly, scratchy throat. Typically seen after viral infection, or due to pollution and allergens. Herbs such as Mulethi and Shatavari have been traditionally used for their soothing, coating effect on the throat, often with honey.

  • Productive cough with phlegm (Kaphaja Kasa) - Heavier, with mucus, congested chest. Vasaka is the herb of choice here with its cough medicine action, often in combination with Trikatu, to help clear built-up Kapha.

  • Allergic cough (Pratishyaya Vata) - Triggered by dust, pollen, or cold air, and often associated with sneezing and watery eyes. The Ayurvedic method is to pacify both Vata and Kapha and also to help digestion (Ama Pachana).

  • Chronic cough - Anything lasting beyond 8 weeks needs a closer look, since causes can range from post-nasal drip to GERD or asthma, and treatment should follow once the root cause is clear.

How to Remove Kapha from the Throat

  • Warm saline gargle - Half a teaspoon of salt in warm water, gargled a few times a day, works surprisingly well for immediate support.

  • Trikatu - A combination of Shunti, Maricha, and Pippali, traditionally used to help loosen and expel mucus.

  • Steam inhalation with eucalyptus or tulsi to open up congested airways.

  • Honey and ginger juice - A simple, classical remedy taken two to three times a day.

For cough and cold ease tailored to your specific symptoms, Jeena Sikho's range of Ayurvedic drops and formulations is built around exactly these herbs, from dry cough to mucus-heavy congestion.

How to Increase Immunity - 6 Science-Backed Methods, Children's Immunity & Ayurvedic Ojas

Building immunity power isn't about one magic fix; it's a mix of daily habits, and in Ayurveda's view, protecting Ojas, the vital essence that keeps the body resilient against illness.

Signs of a Weak Immune System

  • Frequent colds – More than 4-5 colds in a year may mean your immune response is impaired.

  • Slow wound healing - Small cuts and injuries are healing very slowly.

  • Frequent infections - Recurrent ear infections, sinus infections or even pneumonia.

  • Persistent fatigue - Long-term tiredness that doesn’t go away even with sleep and further weakens the immune system.

  • Digestive problems – Constant bloating or loose motions as much of the immune system is related to the gut.

  • In Ayurveda - This is called Ojas Kshaya, or depleted Ojas. It manifests as chronic weakness, low energy, frequent illness, and slow recovery from infections.

6 Science-Backed Immunity Boosting Methods

  1. Sleep 7-8 hours - The body's repair window, producing the T-cells and cytokines needed for immunity. Ayurveda considers Nidra one of the three pillars of health.

  2. Eat immune-supporting nutrients - Vitamin C (Amla has 20x more than an orange), Vitamin D, zinc, and selenium all play a direct role.

  3. Moderate exercise - 150 minutes a week raises NK cell activity; overtraining, however, can suppress immunity.

  4. Manage stress - Chronic cortisol weakens immunity. Pranayama, Ashwagandha, and good sleep help bring it down.

  5. Prioritise gut health - Nearly 70% of immune tissue is gut-associated. Curd, buttermilk, and fibre-rich foods support this.

  6. Follow an Ayurvedic Rasayana routine—Giloy, Amla, Ashwagandha, and Tulsi are traditionally used to support long-term immunity and form the foundation of our Ayurvedic immunity-support range, including Dalchini Haldi Tulsi & FIV LIV Combo, Fever Care Support Combo, Good Green Tablets, Imnu+ Syrup, and more.

Children's Immunity - Ayurvedic Approach for Toddlers and Children

A child’s immune system continues to develop during the early years, so seasonal health concerns can be common. Ayurveda focuses on supporting children’s overall wellness through age-appropriate herbs such as Brahmi, Giloy, and Amla, along with nourishing meals, adequate sunlight, proper sleep, and warm fluids. It also recommends limiting excessive cold foods and drinks to help maintain balanced Agni and Kapha.

For convenient daily support, parents may also consider Shatayu Prash and Kids Care Combo Pack, an Ayurvedic formulation designed to support children’s immunity and overall wellness. Use only as directed and consult a qualified healthcare professional for younger children.

Immunity Booster Foods, Drinks & Herbs - What to Eat and Drink for Strong Immunity

Good immunity often starts in the kitchen. A few daily additions to your diet can make a genuine difference over time, no complicated routines needed.

Top Immunity Booster Foods

  • Amla (Indian Gooseberry) - One of the richest natural sources of Vitamin C, nearly 20 times more than an orange. Known in Ayurveda as Amalaki Rasayana, it's considered the top classical immunity herb, whether eaten fresh, as juice, or in supplement form.

  • Garlic (Lasuna) - Its active compound, allicin, is a strong natural antimicrobial and is known to boost NK (natural killer) cell activity.

  • Ginger (Adrak) – Heating, anti-inflammatory and classically used to kindle digestion (Agni), very useful as a daily kadha during fever prone seasons.

  • Turmeric (Haldi) - Curcumin supports multiple immune pathways and is best absorbed when combined with black pepper and a small amount of healthy fat, such as ghee.

  • Tulsi (Holy Basil) - Traditionally valued for respiratory and clearing Kapha benefits. 5-7 fresh leaves a day or a warm cup of Tulsi tea works well.

  • Citrus Fruits and Berries – These are brimming with Vitamin C and flavonoids that boost the cells of the body’s pathogen fighting.

  • Pumpkin seeds and legumes – Some of the best plant sources of zinc, which is important for healthy immune cells to function properly

  • Curd and buttermilk - Probiotics that support gut-associated immunity, where a large part of the immune system actually resides.

Immunity Booster Drinks Worth Adding to Your Routine

  • Giloy kadha - Giloy stem boiled in water, one of Ayurveda's most specific immunity and fever-support remedies.

  • Amla, Tulsi and ginger juice - This is a classical combination covering all the three doshas.

  • Haldi doodh (golden milk) – Turmeric, warm milk, black pepper and honey, taken traditionally at bedtime

  • Green tea - contains natural antioxidants called catechins, which help protect the body’s cells.

  • Coconut water - Helps restore electrolytes, especially useful during and after a fever.

If you get these benefits without prepping fresh ingredients daily, Jeena Sikho's 32 Herbs Tea brings together several of these immunity herbs in one daily cup, while the Haldi Trikatu Care Juice combines turmeric and Trikatu for everyday respiratory and immunity support.

What to Eat During Fever - Fever Diet Chart, Foods to Avoid & Post-Fever Recovery

A proper fever diet chart can make recovery noticeably smoother, since digestion naturally slows down when the body is fighting an infection. Knowing the best foods during fever, and what to skip helps the body focus its energy on healing rather than digesting heavy meals.

Best Foods to Eat During Fever

  • Warm liquids - Herbal teas, Giloy kadha, and light soups. Hydration is the number one priority, because fever causes obvious fluid loss.

  • Khichdi (moong dal and rice) - The classic patient meal of Ayurveda. Light, warm and easy on the digestion

  • Coconut water – Restores electrolytes lost during sweating.

  • Fresh fruit juices such as orange or pomegranate – Vitamin C and hydration rolled into one, best served at room temperature and not chilled.

  • Curd rice – Gentle on the stomach and provide some probiotic support.

  • Banana and Papaya – Soft, easily digestible and loaded with potassium.

  • Bedtime turmeric milk - Soothing and helps you sleep better.

Foods to Avoid During Fever

  • Heavy, oily or fried foods - Digestion is already under stress.

  • Refined sugar and sweets - Known to suppress immune function for hours after eating it.

  • Cold foods and drinks - Considered Kapha-aggravating in Ayurveda, slowing recovery.

  • Meat and eggs - Nutritious normally, but heavy on digestion while unwell.

  • Alcohol - Dehydrating and immune-suppressing.

Post-Fever Recovery - Dealing With Fever and Weakness

Fever and weakness may continue even after the temperature has returned to normal. It usually takes a week or two for the body to fully replenish its energy stores (Ojas). After the fever is over, it is good to continue with a light and warm diet for a few days more. Take Chyawanprash or Amla for strength. Start with short walks before undertaking any exhausting activity.

For additional post-fever wellness support, Jeena Sikho products such as Fiv Liv Plato Drops, Imnu+ Syrup, Oja Vardhak Tonic and Dr. Immune Tablets may help support immunity, energy, strength and recovery from general weakness. Use these products according to the recommended directions and consult a healthcare professional if weakness persists or worsens.

Ayurvedic Science of Fever & Immunity - Jwara, Ama, Ojas & Vyadhikshamatva

To really understand Ayurveda's approach to fever and immunity, three concepts come up again and again: Jwara, Ojas, and Vyadhikshamatva.

Jwara, or fever, holds a unique place in classical texts. The Charaka Samhita calls it "Jwara Raja", the king of diseases, not because it's the most severe condition, but because it's usually the first sign that something in the body's balance has gone off. According to this framework, Jwara develops when Ama (undigested metabolic waste) combines with an aggravated Dosha, enters the Rasa Dhatu (plasma tissue), and blocks the Sweda Vaha Srotas (sweat channels), leading to heat building up in the body.

Ojas is best understood as Ayurveda's version of innate resilience. It is reputed to be the essence of perfect digestion, and when strong the body is well protected from disease and recovers quickly. When Ojas depletes, fatigue becomes constant, recovery slows down, and the body falls sick more often. This is the basis for most Ayurvedic immunity booster formulations, which are designed to nourish and rebuild Ojas over time.

Vyadhikshamatva, literally "the power to resist disease," is split into two parts in classical texts: the power to prevent disease in the first place, and the power to fight it once it's taken hold. Interestingly, this maps quite closely onto how modern immunology separates innate and adaptive immunity, even though the concept is over two thousand years old.

Support Your Body's Natural Defences - The Jeena Sikho Way

Fever isn't really the enemy; it's the body's own warning system, doing exactly what it's meant to do. And weak immunity isn't something you're stuck with either; more often than not, it's simply a reflection of daily habits that can be changed, one step at a time.

That's the thinking behind Jeena Sikho's Fever & Immunity Care collection: one of the most complete Ayurvedic ranges available, covering everything from acute fever support and dengue-typhoid recovery to everyday cough, cold, allergy support, and rebuilding energy once an illness has passed. Every formulation draws from classical Jwara-nashana herbs like Giloy, Tulsi, Neem, and Trikatu - the same herbs documented centuries ago in the Charaka Samhita for exactly these concerns.

Our products are made in GMP-certified facilities, so you can trust the quality and consistency behind every batch, whether you need support during an active fever, gentle care while recovering from dengue or a seasonal illness, or a daily immunity routine built on Giloy, Amla, Tulsi, and Ashwagandha.

Explore the range and give your body the classical Ayurvedic support it's been asking for.

FAQ's

1) What is a normal body temperature?
A normal oral body temperature for adults generally falls between 36.1-37.2°C (97-99°F), with rectal readings running about 0.5°C higher. Temperature naturally shifts through the day, lowest in the early morning, highest by late afternoon. Fever is typically considered to begin above 38°C orally. In elderly individuals, the baseline can be lower, so even 37.5°C might already count as fever for them.

2) What are the symptoms of viral fever?

Viral fever is generally characterised by a sudden spike of temperature to 38 to 40 degrees Celsius, body and joint pains, headaches, fatigue, a blocked or runny nose, sore throat and sometimes a rash. It usually gets better in 3-7 days without antibiotics, which don't work for viruses. Usually rest, fluids, Giloy kadha and paracetamol for comfort are enough.

3) How long does viral fever last?

Most viral fevers settle down in 3-7 days with rest and proper hydration.  Dengue fever has a pattern and lasts for 7-10 days. Influenza lasts for 5-7 days. COVID-19 fever lasts for 3-14 days. Typhoid can last for 3 to 4 weeks if left untreated. If fever crosses 7 days in adults or 3 days in children, it’s worth seeing a doctor.

4) What are the 7 warning signs of dengue fever?

Immediate hospital care is needed if any of these appear: severe abdominal pain or persistent vomiting, bleeding from gums, nose, or in urine/stool, rapid or difficult breathing, unusual restlessness or fatigue, blood in vomit, liver enlargement, or a rapid platelet drop. Dengue without these warning signs can often be managed at home under a doctor's supervision.

5) What is the best Ayurvedic medicine for fever?

Classical Jwara-nashana herbs used for fever include Giloy (also called Amrita), Tulsi, Neem, and Trikatu. For fever with body pain, a Giloy and dry ginger combination is traditionally recommended. Jeena Sikho Fever Care Support Combo may be considered for Ayurvedic wellness support alongside adequate rest and hydration. Consult a healthcare professional if the fever is high, persistent or accompanied by severe symptoms.

6) How to lower a fever naturally at home?

Few things help - Tepid sponging with lukewarm (not cold) water on forehead and neck, staying hydrated with ORS or coconut water, complete rest, warm Giloy kadha and Tulsi-ginger-honey tea. Keeping the room at a comfortable 20-22°C and wearing light clothes also helps. If the fever is over 39.4°C or lasts for more than 3 days, see a doctor.

7) What are the symptoms of typhoid fever?

Features of typhoid are a stepwise rising temperature, a pulse rate slower than expected, faint rose spots on the trunk, constipation changing to diarrhoea by the second week, abdominal pain and loss of appetite. Blood culture is the right diagnosis and appropriate antibiotic treatment is needed. Self-treatment of typhoid is not advised but Ayurvedic supportive treatment can be helpful along with the prescribed treatment.

8) How to increase immunity naturally?

A few habits make a real difference: sleeping 7-8 hours, moderate exercise (around 150 minutes a week), eating Vitamin C-rich and zinc-rich foods, managing stress, and looking after gut health with curd and prebiotic foods. Classical Ayurvedic Rasayana herbs: Giloy, Amla, Ashwagandha, and Tulsi may also support immunity. Jeena Sikho Dr. Immune Tablets, formulated with immunity-supporting Ayurvedic herbs, can be included as part of a balanced daily wellness routine.

9) What are immunity booster foods?

Some of the best options include Amla (extremely high in Vitamin C), garlic, turmeric with black pepper, Tulsi, ginger, citrus fruits, pumpkin seeds, curd, buttermilk, and green tea. Adding these regularly, particularly when the seasons change or after an illness, can contribute meaningfully to the body’s natural defences.

10) What is Giloy, Why is it good for Immunity and Fever?

In Ayurveda, Giloy is also called Amrita and is one of the most important herbs for fever and immunity. Research shows it has fever reducing qualities and helps the activity of macrophages, T-cells and NK-cells. It is also studied for its role in supporting platelet counts in dengue, and is traditionally considered good for the liver.

11) Is it possible for Ayurveda to cure dengue fever?

Ayurveda cannot cure or treat dengue, but it may provide complementary support for general wellness and recovery under a doctor’s guidance. Herbs such as Giloy are traditionally used to support immunity; however, they are not proven to eliminate the dengue virus or reliably increase platelet counts. Proper medical care, hydration and platelet monitoring remain essential.

12) What is the best immunity booster for children?

Traditional options for children include Chyawanprash, Amla juice, Tulsi leaves, turmeric milk and adequate sunlight for vitamin D. Jeena Sikho Chyawanprash may be included as an Ayurvedic daily wellness supplement. Always check the recommended age and dosage on the label and consult a pediatrician before giving it to a child.
